Aamir Khan is making waves with with his show 'Satyamev Jayate' by highlighting social causes but the director of The Late Night Show, Abhigyan Jha, is unimpressed. He feels that his show is much better at highlighting social causes than Satyamev Jayate. Says Abhigyan, ” Our show is way more radical than any Satyamev Jayate. We handle social issues with humour which makes people watch it. Aamir's show feels like a UGC program with too much information and no entertainment.”
The Late Night Show is a path breaking show in its own right. It is the first show in India to have been adapted from the internet to television. Abhigyan feels this is owing to the fact that people want to watch these kind of shows which allow for venting about the system in a lighter vein.
Also, he thinks that Aamir is undermining the audience's intelligence by preaching to them about various social issues. “It is evident in the format of the show that he feels the audience is not very intelligent and needs to be preached. Which takes away credit from the audience's understanding”, says the director who is the brain behind The Late Night Show as well as the previous edition of Movers
Aamir Khan's show Satyamev Jayate earned its share of bouquets and brickbats and it seems like he'll have to try a little harder to thrill fellow show creators.
