65-year old Lakhender Paswan didn’t know what to do when his 9-day old grandson Kamlesh was abandoned by his son-in-law. But like any responsible elder, Lakhender didn’t back down and took the responsibility whole-heartedly. Today Kamlesh lives with his grandfather Lakhender who his trying to make ends meet to provide for the future of his grandchild.
Lakhender has 3 sons and 1 daughter and runs a small tea stall. His elder 2 sons are married but unfortunately his own sons left him and live separately with their respective families. His youngest son is also married and lives with him and his wife. When he married off his daughter, it was like a dream come true for Lakhender who thought things would go all well now. But cruel is destiny sometimes. While giving birth to Kamlesh, Lakhender’s daughter lost her life and her husband, Kamlesh’s father, refuse to take his son’s responsibility. Eventually it was Lakhender who took all the burdens and today along with his wife earns around Rs. 1000 and is trying his best to provide for his family.
His worry has always been to provide a secure future for his grandson Kamlesh and helping him in this noble endeavor would be none other than singer Mika Singh. Through Colors’ new show Mission Sapne, Mika will take on Lakhender’s job of selling tea for a day and help him earn money. According to the show’s format, Lakhender will receive 100 times more the amount earned and we even got to know that Mika himself would be providing money for Kamlesh’s education and living through his NGO. Just bravo!
