Anil Kapoor's Indian remake of 24 is no doubt a prestigious project, and any actor would be proud to associate himself/herself with this show. But this aspiration of young actors is causing problems for the casting team of 24. 

Abhinay Deo, the director of the show, had roped in casting director Roshmi Banerjee to pick out the best actors for 24. Abhinay and Roshmi go back a long way, as she worked with him in ads and documentaries. Roshmi’s most recent claim to fame is the brilliant casting work that she had done for the acclaimed movie ‘Kahaani’, which was lauded for characters like Satyaki and Bob Biswas. 

When Roshmi called for actors to audition for 24, hundreds of applications poured in within a couple of days, which led to the crash of her email account. Because of this, the casting director tweeted, “And I thought casting for 24 would be easy..boohooohooohoo!!”

Not just that, Anil Kapoor’s office too saw an unprecedented turnout of aspiring actors who wanted to audition for the show. When all other attempts to deter the crowd failed, Anil Kapoor’s staff had to put up a placard announcing that the roles have been filled. 

Well, the casting director for 24 definitely seems to be facing the problem of plenty. And if you take a look at the distinguished cast of the show, the 24 team seems to have done a good job.
