This time when we went on the sets of Beinteha, we came across a 78-year old man keenly watching the shoot . It made us curious and we wanted to know more about him. When enquired, we got to know that he does not have any association with the show in anyway, except his claim to be the biggest fan of Beintehaa. So much so, that he had been allowed by the production team to visit the shoot anyday, anytime.
But, it was during one of the shoot breaks that Harshad Arora aka Zain Abdullah told about the 78 year old Zafar Khatri. “Have you met our biggest fan ever Mr Zafar, he is 78-year old and he travels from Vasai to the set everyday just to be with us. We feel blessed and overwhelmed to receive so much love from him. He is a part of Beintehaa family now,” he introduced us to Zafar.
Interesting! we thought and decided to hear the story from the horse’s mouth itself. “I am a retired Merchant Navy Officer and I have traveled the world. I lost my wife few years back and my four children are settled at various places. I have been staying all alone in Vasai. So, all day I just watch TV. I love this show so much that I used to watch the repeat telecasts as well,” Zafar told us while revising the timings of the repeat telecast.
At an age of 78, it is amazing to see a man as lively and joyful as Zafar. “I have no complains in life and for the last few months, all I wanted was to meet the cast of this show. And see God has given me what I really wanted. Now everyday I come and be here on the set and from Zain, Aaliya to producer Farhan, everyone loves me a lot,” he told us with joy.
But how did he manage to make his ways to reach here? “I happened to see an advertisement of Suchitra Pillai’s play in the newspaper that happens in Bandra. I noted the address and decided to go there so that I could at least meet her. I reached and waited for good two to three hours to meet Suchitra. But she went inside from another gate. Luckily, I saw Fahad (Vivek Madaan) and Nafisa ( Gunjan Vijaya) coming in from the same gate, where I was standing. I spoke to them and expressed my desire to meet everyone. And, guess what! They gave me the studio’s address without any apprehensions. A few days later, I reached the set. I met Farhaan (producer of Beintehaa) and he said I can be on the sets whenever I want. Since then I come here everyday and spend time with the entire cast. It is my family now,” he concluded.
Salute to the spirit of Mr Zafar! We appreciate team Beintehaa for acknowledging Zafar’s love for the show in such way.
