Beginning of the year also means the awards season and our Colors stars seem to have already bagged some pivotal trophies to their name. Recently Guild Awards concluded its award ceremony for 2013 and honored all the great works from last year. This year too Salman Khan was seen hosting the show and knowing the Superstars’ natural charm we have no doubt the ceremony was nothing less than epic.
The Guild Awards not only commemorates Bollywood but also our TV industry and this year Colors has made its presence felt by picking up some important trophies. In the category of Best Fiction Show it is the popular Balika Vadhu that made its way through. Running from 5 years, the Colors’ show has been instrumental in highlighting some major social issues such as child marriage and education. Talking about this huge achievement Siddharth Shukla, who plays the lead character of Shiv in Balika Vadhu commented, “It feels good to be a part of the show that has been running for 5 years now. A lot of shows don’t run for even a year these days. This show has put up for so long and that too with great perspectives. Hats off to the whole team for pulling off the show so well!”
Comedy Nights with Kapil received the Best Comedy Series award and going by its huge popularity we think this is well deserved. Maker of the show Kapil Sharma expressed his happiness over Twitter and dedicated this honor to his entire cast and crew. His tweet read, “Congrats to all my team@kingaliasgar@kikusharda@sumona24@preeti_simoes upasna ji n all d back stage team N our fans fr making us on top. Luv.” For their hard work and efforts we say Thoko Taali!
But the happiness didn’t end there as TV’s top leading lady Drashti Dhami won the Best Actress award for her portrayal of Madhubala. The show that launched in May 2012 soon became a hit among the masses and much credit goes to Drashti’s effortless acting. We wish her and all the other winners many congratulations!
