Another week has gone by, and another challenge has been conquered. Most of the contestants of Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa survived the ‘Prop pe Prop’ challenge, and some of them (read: Lauren and Shaan) even managed to ace the challenge. Just as the contestants were heaving a sigh of relief, the judges have presented them with another challenge- back up performers.
Now you might think how this is a challenge as having back up dancers can enhance any performance. But the masterstroke that the judges are looking for is an innovative use of the dancers that pushes the envelope and surprises them.
In a way, these back up dancers are going to be a live prop that the contestants use to make their performance stand out from the rest. They can make a formation of the dancers, or gather them into a flash mob, or even use them as bystanders for their performance. When it comes to the out of the box challenge, the sky is the limit!
Another ‘live’ challenge that the contestants are going to face in the coming week is the challenge of wild card contenders. The seven wild card entries have already staked their claim to the Jhalak stage, and the current crop of Jhalak contestants will have to face these very new entrants, well atleast the ones that make it through the initial knock out rounds.
So the Jhalak contestants have their task cut out for them this week, with the back-up dancers challenge and the wild card threat. Looks like the Jhalak family is set to do some major expansion this time. So watch out!
