So, all the Siddharth Shukla fans, here is a great news to spice up your weekend. Your collector sahab Shiv has struck gold by signing up a 3 movie deal with Dharma Productions. The sober and gentle Siddharth Shukla who is the aankh ka taara of all mothers and makes his female fans go weak in the knees is all set to woo the audience on the 70 mm screen. We had a little tete-a-tete with Siddharth on his big leap to bollywood.
Firstly congratulations on bagging the jackpot, how does it feel? Can you call this your big leap to silver screen?
Absolutely, I don’t think it gets bigger than this. I would really like to thank Colors and Balika Vadhu. They are the reason I have got this far.
What do you think is your USP that you struck gold?
Well, I don’t know what my USP is but honestly I put my heart and soul in whatever I do. I do best to my potential and push myself to the limits.
From small screen to the 70mm screen, what are you looking forward to?
I hope that the new journey goes just as well as my journey in television has been so far, and on my way i wish to tag along with more and more people liking me and lending their love to me.
Which is closer to you, tv or movies?
Both are totally different mediums. I’m an actor and all I believe is in my work. But I must say TV has got me to this place where I’m noticed and loved. I owe it to TV.
How would it be working with Kjo?
To be very honest, it sounds so unreal. Coming from a non-filmy background and making it big this way is a huge deal for me. I’m going to be a part of a team who are the A-list of film makers in the industry. It would have been very tough for me to make my place in there, but to my surprise things went very smoothly.
You would be sharing screen space with Varun Dhawan and Alia Bhatt in ‘Humpty Sharma Ki Dulhaniya’, your comment
They both are really fantastic and grounded. Being from a background where you grow up surrounded by the biggies of the film industry you have got to have airs and attitude about everything, but that is not at all the case with both of them. They have been here for quiet sometime now and have been doing well for themselves. In a way I’m a noob to this fraternity and they have taken me with open arms. It is very touching for me that they are much more real than others around, and I really feel privileged to be a part of such great team.
Any remake from the past hits that you want to work in?
All the old blockbusters, rework them and I want to be in them. Also I don’t want to tie myself up in a genre. I believe in experimenting, so any good movie coming up, I would definitely want to try my hands on it.
Any role that you have always dreamt of doing?
All the Big B roles in the past. Be it Deewar or Sholay, he is one man with the precision and perfection. Though it is tough for anyone to fit in those shoes, but he is my ideal.
Why don’t we wrap up this interview with your favorite dialogue?
Ek baar jo maine commitment kar di toh fir main khud ki bhi nahi sunta. Well, more than just a dialogue it is something that I believe in and try living up to.
