How does it feel to make a comeback on Colors?
It feels really good to come back. I have had the opportunity to work with Colors on Uttaran, where I played the lead character –Veer. Honestly, I am very comfortable with the channel and it feels like family.
What is your character all about?
My character’s name is Rehan, who is a lawyer, but I got to play multiple roles through this character. On one hand, Rehan is an extremely successful lawyer who hasn’t lost any case in his entire career, and on the other hand he is a single parent of two. Rehan is a strong and mature person but when it comes to his profession he is aggressive. With his children he becomes fun loving while you get to see his emotional side when he misses his wife. It’s a character with many shades.
Did you have any apprehensions about playing a father?
I don’t have any apprehensions about playing a father to 5-6 years old kids. Initially, I was wondering if I will be able to manage working with small kids, but was relieved once I met them. Both the kids are really nice. It’s going to be fun working with them.
Beintehaa is a popular show, what should viewers expect from you?
When I entered Uttaran after the first leap in 2009, viewers accepted me and loved me as Veer. My entry helped the show get a better viewership. I am hoping the same here too. I hope to do justice to my character.
You were on a break for a year. Tell us how difficult is it for an actor to make a comeback?
Yes, it is difficult for some actors to wait for the right kind of work but for me that wasn’t the case. My break was good, I did everything that I wanted to do. I spent my time traveling, doing photography and reading books. I also started my business. I worked on my fitness; I shed a lot of weight. So, it was a time well spent. Now, I am all set to be on the screen again.
Catch Nandish make a suave entry as Rehan in the upcoming episodes of Beintehaa, from Mon-Fri 9pm only on Colors!
