The spirited and lively cast from different parts of Punjab, seems to be bringing in the Punjabi flavour alive on the sets of Bani-Ishq Da Kalma with their mere presence.
A source from the sets told us about a ganna (sugarcane) eating competition between Neha Bagga and Adhvik Mahajan on the day of Baisakhi celebration.
Neha who plays the chirpy Rajji and Adhvik who plays Sohum were on a roll that day, as Neha screen was in character and on a mission to beat Adhvik in this competition. On the other hand, Adhvik who plays the angry young man on screen was in a completely festive mode and kept warning Rajji that beating her in the competition was child’s play for him.
While some actors cheered for Adhvik, the others supported Neha. Shefali who plays the protagonist Bani was seen cheering her on screen best friend and sister Rajji aka Neha for obvious reasons. After a point of time, Shefali also started helping Neha with the gannas, somehow managing to divert Adhvik’s attention, and the sister duo managed to finally beat the Adhvik with a little cheating and lots of masti.
Speaking about winning the competition, Shefali (Bani) and Neha coyly replied, “This competition was like reliving the good old days of Punjab in Mumbai. We are very excited that we beat Adhvik in this competition as he was overconfident about winning, though we did do a bit of cheating. The best thing about being a part of Bani is that we will never be away from our roots and our culture.”
Adding on to this Adhvik said,“ All three of us are very fond of sugarcanes and this competition got the entire unit involved. Everyone on the sets celebrated Baisakhi with loads of excitement, merriment and playfulness. Thereafter an elaborate feast comprising of scrumptious Punjabi delicacies was organized for everyone on the sets”
Well all we can say is the girls truly kept everyone on their feet and made sure that the festival of Baisakhi is celebrated in its true spirit and vigour.
