When Karan Johar does something he leaves no stone unturned. Like his movies, his birthday too makes the news and this year was no different. On 25th May the popular film maker turned 40 and his birthday bash was the most awaited event for Bollywood.

Last night, the who’s who of the industry gathered at Taj Lands End, Bandra to celebrate KJo’s birthday. A black and white affair, the preparations were handled by Manish Malhotra who not only styled the guests but also the waiters! From Shah Rukh Khan to Hrithik Roshan, Sanjay Dutt to Riteish Deshmukh everybody were present with their respective beaus.  Even the singletons from the industry such as Preity Zinta, Bipasha Basu, Shahid Kapoor tagged in with friends. Priyanka Chopra too made a brief visit to wish her friend-turned-foe-turned friends again!

The Birthday Boy himself was dressed in a black suit with a white rose in pocket and looked dapper throughout the evening. The event looked like a Karan Johar movie where everything was synchronized according to the theme. 

Most of the dames chose to drift away a little from the theme. Vidya Balan chose her infamous saree attire while Kareena Kapoor donned a floral dress and came in sans Saif Ali Khan. The Queen of Telly World and KJo’s childhood friend Ekta Kapoor turned up in an off-shoulder green and blue-colored gown. Other TV stars who made it were Mini Mathur and Ronit Roy with his wife.

Karan Johar would soon be seen on Colors’ Jhalak Dikhla Ja where he will be judging celebrities on their dancing skills and who knows, next year’s birthday party theme might be Salsa or Rumba!
