We didn’t get to see him do the popular belt dance or the pelvic thrusts but a true entertainer is one who pleases his fans by just showing up and that’s what Salman Khan has done in 2013. Without a single release Salman still managed to grab the attention of fans and media and was recently even named the most searched celebrity by Google in 2013.
The year that has been:
Continuing his relationship of four years with Colors, Salman was once again seen hosting Bigg Boss – season 7 and like always he rocked it with his frank comments and lovable anchoring. But since the show is known for its controversies this season even got Salman’s name involved and created a sort of war among fans on social media. But that didn’t stop our Superstar from being who he is and he continued hosting the show in his usual style. He also released his upcoming movie Jai Ho’s promo in the show giving an exclusive glimpse to the housemates.
In other news:
The year has been a bittersweet one for Salman. While his hit-and-run case took a new turn and is now going to begin a fresh trial from January 7th, his movies took a toll and most of the shoots were delayed due to health reasons. In 2011, he was treated for trigeminal neuralgia but the symptoms returned and earlier in the year he again went off to US for treatment.
His most talked about love-hate relationship with Shahrukh Khan was also once again in limelight as the two after a prolonged fight of 5 years came face-to-face in Baba Siddiqui’s Eid party and finally shared a hug! Well, it wasn’t exactly making up of sorts but even a hug after 5 years was enough for the fans to go berserk and #SalmanhuggedSRK trended for days on Twitter.
Post the party, both Salman and Shahrukh passed cryptic comments over each other in various media events but it was always in good humour and dipped in love. In a recent chat show, Salman was also seen talking about his once upon a time friend SRK with utmost respect and love making his fans happier than ever.
Just last night Salman celebrated his 49th birthday at his favorite spot Panvel farmhouse with family and close friends. The bash saw celebrities like Aamir Khan, Anil Kapoor bring in their friend’s birthday with grandeur.
In the New Year:
Looking at the lineup of his upcoming movies like Jai Ho, Kick and Sher Khan, fans are surely in for a Salman-filled 2014. All his movies are being touted to take the box office by storm.
But the question remains if he will be seen hosting season 8 of Bigg Boss on Colors. Many a times in the current season he has hinted he might not be a part of the next season but as he himself says, “Ek baar jo maine commitment kar di toh uske baad main apne aap ki bhi nahi sunta.” So please someone get him committed to Bigg Boss 8 now!
