Veena Chopra and Raj Chopra a.k.a Alka Amin and Vivek Mishra, who are seen as loving husband and wife in Parichay, the popular show on Colors have an old and nostalgic connect. 

Their friendship dates back to the early 90s when both of them were actively involved with theatre in Delhi. Vivek Mishra, who plays Samir Soni's father in the show was two years junior to his on-screen wife Veena, in the National School of Drama.

We caught up with the actor, who recently surprised the viewers as a Spanish Prisoner. “Parichay is my first stint with television in my career of 22 years since I passed out from NSD as a theater professional. I thank Colors and Balaji that they gave me a chance to work with my senior from College, Alka Amin, whom I have always admired as an actress.” When asked about their theatre connect he said, “You know I got to know that I was selected in NSD from Alka much before the official announcement was made. She is such a brilliant actress and I always wanted to work with her, and now through Parichay I am actually doing a role, which is at par with hers.” 

Well, the admiration is mutual as talking about Vivek's acting skills, Alka said, “Vivek is not only a co-actor, but a great family friend for ages. We have known each other since our theatre days. He is a seasoned actor but, unfortunately his versatility has not been explored on television yet. Now that we are focusing on the 'family part' in the show, I am sure you will get to see many shades of Raj's personality and Vivek's skills.”
