Popular TV actor Ronit Roy recently helped a family settle financially by helping them in their daily work. This week’s Mission Sapne features the story of cosmetic seller Jammat Ali from Lucknow who is the father of a disabled son and the sole bread earner of the family.
Jammat Ali has two daughters of which one is married and one is still studying in school. He also has two sons but his elder one, Rais Ahmed, lost his leg 11 years ago in an accident. Since then he has been out of job and has been sitting at home. Rais feels he’s like a burden to the family and wishes to become a vegetable vendor if given the opportunity and help his family financially.

Jammat sells cosmetics from village to village and even at the age of 55 he manages to cover 5-12kms everyday. On a daily basis he manages to earn Rs.70 but has a loan of Rs.8, 000 on him. Being the only person to earn income in the family he’s been unable to pay off his debts.  

According to the show’s format Ronit Roy stepped into Jammat’s shoes for a day and helped raise funds for his family by selling cosmetics. Not only did he help them settle financially but also this encouraging move from his end helped Jammat and his family believe that dreams do come true!
