COLORS’s most popular drama series is all set to cross 1000 episodes this November. The show that went on air in December 2008 has captivated millions of viewers across the world is now progressing to a more interesting turn of events. Uttaran started out with the portrayal of the ups and downs between two friends that created a phenomenal craze and unmatched loyalty on Indian television. The show, being one of COLORS’ top rated properties has introduced affable and relatable characters like Ichcha, Tapasya, Veer, Jogi Thakur, Nani, Damini, Rathore, Mukta that are household names today. Now, as it enters a new phase, audiences can rejoice as their favourite character of Tapasya makes a grand comeback. With this re-entry, Uttaran is set to scale new heights as it revisits its original concept albeit with a difference as Rashmi Desai returns in an a new avatar in the 1000th episode that will be aired on November 7, 2012.
The show has brilliantly carved the tumultuous relationship between Ichcha and Tapasya – from being best friends to foes and the changing dynamics in their families. The tale has matured over the years, with the show going through two leaps with both Tapasya and Ichcha falling in love with the same man ‘Veer’ to eighteen years later as mothers to college going kids – Mukta and Meethi. The script has advanced beautifully through the leaps – be it with Ichcha living on Tapasya’s uttaran and now as a result of the twist in destinies, Mukta her daughter is living on Meethi’s Uttaran. This twist will be further filled with emotions when Tapasya meets her daughter Mukta for the first time after nineteen years, bringing yet another surprising turn of fate that will take the story forward.
