Look around you and you'll know that the festival of lights has truly arrived! And when it comes to enjoying Diwali, no one can beat the enthusiasm of kids. And one person who'll agree with us is Vivian Dsena. Because this dapper young star, who plays RK in Madhubala, has very fond memories of Diwali as a kid.
Vivian says, “Diwali was a time to indulge! I used to go shopping with my maasi (aunt) and buy new clothes for Diwali. I have been a foodie since childhood so I also used to help my Nani in making the Chhappan Bhog. There were sweets and namkeen and lots of goodies but sadly we were not allowed to touch them till the Bhog was offered!”
And what Diwali celebration is complete without firecrackers? Vivian, too, says that he was very fond of crackers when he was younger. So much so, that his 'fataka' session on Diwali day would start around 9 pm and end only at 2 am in the night. That's what we call a cracker of a celebration! But now that Vivian is older and wiser, he has cut down on this polluting indulgence. He says, “I now know that crackers cause a lot of pollution, because of both smoke and the noise. So I light only a few crackers on the day of Laxmi Puja, just for shagun”
Because of his hectic schedules, he will miss out on the Diwali celebrations with his family in his home town. But that doesn't mean that Vivian still doesn't revel in the spirit of Diwali. He revealed his Diwali plans to us. “I have a day off on Diwali so me and Vahbbiz (his fiancée), both being shopping buffs, will get our Diwali shopping done. I have been doing the Diwali pooja myself every year in my house so this year will be no different, and we'll light diyas all around the house. And of course, being a major foodie, I'm looking forward to all the sweets and Diwali food that I can lay my hands on!”
And before signing off, this is what he had to say,” I wish all of my fans a very Happy Diwali and a prosperous New Year. Have a safe Diwali!”
