Thoda Hai Thode Ki Zaroorat Hai is the story of a middle class joint family living in the heart of Mumbai's heartland, Shivaji Park. Although the family is surrounded by the glamour of a big city, their lives remain untouched by it as they work towards fulfilling their simple needs and modest dreams. Trying to stay afloat in a world where they've been left either to swim or sink, the Kulkarni's are trying to make a living, staying together and holding on to their only treasure, their morals and values.
The Kulkarni's comprise of Ramakant and Sulekha Kulkarni who are residing with their children Shreekant, Nishikant and Akshata. Ramakant Kulkarni, the head of the family is a cricket coach and trains aspiring cricketers in Shivaji Park and his wife Sulekha works in a papad factory. The backbone of the Kulkarni house lies in the beloved daughter in law Mugdha Kulkarni who manages the house and needs of the family members successfully and happily. The entire house depends on her and she draws great pleasure in being there for them. The story focuses on how the family's life changes as the younger son gets married and an eighth member Pragya comes to live with the family in their tiny 1BHK flat.
Mughdha, our lead protagonist keeps the family together in all times of trouble with a smile on her face and gives strength to the other members with her grounded persona. Mughdha shares a unique bond with her mother in law Sulekha, a sentiment hardly seen in times like this. This unique relationship between the two is what keeps the family grounded and going.
